About Emily

I believe your body deserves to be listened to.

I’m Emily R. McLean, a Licensed Massage Therapist and Registered 200-Hour Yoga Teacher. My approach to bodywork and movement begins with a simple belief: there is rarely one solution to a problem.

I came to massage and yoga not only because I wanted to help others, but because I know firsthand what it feels like to need these practices myself. I have a body that gets achy and holds tension, and a mind that can be busy and difficult to quiet. Massage and yoga have given me ways to feel better physically, slow down mentally, and reconnect with myself when life feels full. Experiencing those benefits personally is a big part of what drew me to this work—and why I continue to believe so strongly in creating space for people to care for themselves. I don’t practice from a place of having it all figured out. I practice from an understanding that we’re all living in real bodies, with real stress, responsibilities, and full lives, and sometimes we need support finding our way back home to ourselves.

I believe the way we care for ourselves should support the lives we want to live—not become another standard we're constantly trying to meet. Wellness doesn't have to look like a perfectly optimized routine. Sometimes it's getting a massage. Sometimes it's moving your body, resting before you're completely depleted, noticing that you've been holding your breath, or making one small change that helps you feel better.

I want the work we do together to extend beyond our time in the treatment room and help you feel more capable of caring for yourself in everyday life.

1. Listen first.

Every person who comes to me brings a different body, history, lifestyle, and set of needs. Our work starts by listening to what you're experiencing and what you're hoping to get from our time together.

My Approach

2. Look at the whole person.

Pain and tension don't always have a single explanation. Movement, stress, sleep, habits, the nervous system, and everyday demands can all play a role. I stay curious about how those pieces may be connected rather than assuming there's one solution.

3. Work together.

I want you to feel involved in your own care. I'll bring my training, observations, and ideas—and I'll encourage you to notice what feels supportive for your own body.

4. Keep it realistic.

You shouldn't need to reorganize your entire life around wellness. When appropriate, I may offer movement, stretches, awareness practices, or other ideas you can experiment with between sessions. The goal is to find things that genuinely support you and fit into the life you're already living.

Bodywork, movement, & awareness

My work brings together massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, stretch therapy, yoga, yoga nidra, and meditation. Each of these modalities creates an opportunity to slow down, pay attention, and become more connected to your own experience.

Whether you come to me because you're in pain, carrying stress, looking for space to rest, or simply wanting to take better care of yourself, we'll start with what you need today.
