Frequently Asked Questions
It’s important to me that you feel comfortable, informed, and in control of your experience. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
How much do I need to undress?
Undress to your comfort level. You are always welcome to leave on as much clothing as you need to feel comfortable.
For massage that includes the back and shoulders, removing your bra allows me to work more effectively through these areas, but the choice is always yours. I ask that underwear remain on during your session.
How does draping work?
Your privacy and comfort are a priority. You will remain fully covered by a sheet and blanket throughout your session, and I will only uncover the area of the body I am actively working on. Each area will be re-covered before moving on to the next.
I do not perform breast massage.
How does consent work during a massage?
During your first session, I will ask for verbal consent before working on the scalp and face, feet, and glutes. Once you have given consent for these areas, I will consider that consent ongoing for future sessions unless you tell me otherwise.
Abdominal massage is also available upon request. Gentle abdominal work can be a supportive addition for clients experiencing digestive discomfort and can help encourage relaxation and healthy digestive function. Because this is a more sensitive area of the body, abdominal massage will only be performed when specifically requested and with your consent.
You can always change your mind. If there is an area you would like me to avoid during a particular session—or altogether—just let me know.
What if I’m uncomfortable or want something changed?
Please tell me! Communication is one of the most important parts of creating a massage that works for you.
You can ask for more or less pressure, a different position, an area to be avoided, the temperature to be adjusted, a change in the music, or anything else that would help you feel more comfortable. You never need to endure something that doesn’t feel right simply because the session has already started.
My goal is for us to work together so that your session feels supportive to your body and your needs that day.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens. Kids get sick, schedules change, and unexpected things come up. I simply ask that you do your best to give me at least 12 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
I do not charge a cancellation fee for an occasional late cancellation. However, after two late cancellations or no-shows, I will require a deposit when booking future appointments.
My goal is to offer flexibility while also protecting the time I have reserved specifically for you.
Should I come in for my appointment if I am sick?
No. If you’re feeling sick, please reschedule your appointment and give your body time to rest and recover. Massage increases circulation and can sometimes leave you feeling more fatigued or uncomfortable when your body is already fighting an illness. Rescheduling also helps protect me and other clients from exposure.
Once you’re feeling well again and are no longer contagious, you’re welcome to return for your session. You will never be penalized for canceling due to illness.
What is Craniosacral therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is gentle, hands-on work that engages the body’s deeper fascial tissues without deep pressure. You remain fully clothed while resting on the massage table as I use light touch, often around the head, neck, spine, and sacrum. The slow pace gives your body space to settle; many people describe the experience as feeling like a nervous system reset. You’re welcome to ask questions or share what you’re noticing at any point.
